What a Week Really Costs at Thailand’s Wellness Resorts
Five resorts in Hua Hin, Koh Samui and Phuket priced for a week, with a plain look at what each price includes and what it leaves out.
A Thai wellness stay often begins with a consultation instead of a key. At Chiva-Som in Hua Hin and Kamalaya on Koh Samui, a member of staff asks about sleep, stress and goals before any treatment is booked. What you then pay depends far more on what is bundled than on the name above the gate.
This guide prices a week at five resorts on the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman coast: Chiva-Som, Kamalaya, Absolute Sanctuary, Amatara and Aleenta. Prices are in the currency the seller published, because most of these resorts quote UK buyers in pounds and US buyers in dollars.
How we chose
We picked established resorts that publish programme prices and sell stays of about a week. Where a resort’s own price sheet loaded, we used it. Where it did not, we used the UK agent Healing Holidays or the comparison site CompareRetreats, and we say so. Every figure is as published in October 2026 and changes with season.
We have not stayed at any of these places. Descriptions of programmes are what each seller says they include.
The short version
| Resort | Base | Stay priced | Per person, sharing | What the price covers |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chiva-Som | Hua Hin | 7 nights | £3,899 (June–September) to £5,599 (November–January) | Transfers, room, full board, one daily treatment |
| Kamalaya | Koh Samui | 8 nights | £3,119 (April–December) | Transfers, room, full board, programme treatments |
| Absolute Sanctuary | Koh Samui | 7 nights | £399 (October) to £499 (January–March) | Transfers, room, breakfast, group classes |
| Amatara | Phuket | 3 nights | From US$1,521 | Full board, wellness activities, with service charge and taxes extra |
| Aleenta | Phang Nga, near Phuket airport | 3 nights | From £849 | Transfers, room, full board |
Chiva-Som, Hua Hin
Chiva-Som is the high-end benchmark. Healing Holidays lists a 7-night stay at £3,899 per person sharing in the June–September low season, £5,199 in October and £5,599 from 1 November to 5 January 2027. A single room costs £5,199, £6,959 and £7,699 for the same periods.
The agent says that covers transfers, accommodation and full board. It also lists an individual consultation, three wellness-cuisine meals a day, up to nine fitness classes daily, use of the steam, sauna and pools, and one treatment per night from a set list. A credit of about ฿22,200 for the spa menu is included.
At the October rate that works out at roughly £743 a night. Healing Holidays’ own guide to the resort, dated February 2026, gives a 3-night entry point from £1,769 in low season and suggests five to seven nights for most visitors.
Kamalaya, Koh Samui
Kamalaya sells programmes, not rooms with extras. Its own 2026–27 price sheet puts the Introduction to Detox programme at ฿50,287 for three nights and ฿73,058 for five. Kamalaya says its programmes are priced exclusive of accommodation, so you book a room on top.
Healing Holidays quotes the Relax & Renew programme as an all-in package. It costs £3,119 per person sharing for eight nights in the April–December low season, with transfers, accommodation and two meals plus afternoon tea. Five nights costs £2,099 and three nights £1,399.
That is about £390 a night for eight nights. The gap between the two sheets is a good reminder to ask whether a quote includes the room.
Kamalaya also lists a resident rate from ฿8,640 a night for stays of three nights or more, open to people with a Thai ID or work permit and bookable until 15 December 2026.
Absolute Sanctuary, Koh Samui
Absolute Sanctuary sits at the other end of the scale. Healing Holidays lists seven nights from £399 per person sharing in October, £469 in September and November to mid-December, and £499 from 8 January to 31 March 2027. Singles run from £759 to £989.
That price covers transfers, accommodation, breakfast, group fitness classes and an infinity-edge pool. Spa treatments are separate. At October rates it comes to about £57 a night, so this is the one to choose if you want a base and your own programme rather than a managed week.
Its programme-led stays cost more. CompareRetreats lists a four-night Signature Detox from US$1,624 per person sharing, and says it includes daily colon hydrotherapy and detox meals.
Amatara, Phuket
CompareRetreats describes Amatara as a five-star “welleisure” resort at Cape Panwa, on Phuket’s south-east coast, about 45 minutes from the airport. It lists seven programmes, including yoga, stress recovery and detox, all starting from US$1,521 for three nights on a full-board basis.
Five- and seven-night prices are on request. The listing says rates exclude a 10 per cent service charge, 7 per cent government tax and 1 per cent provincial tax. Add those and the three-night figure rises by roughly 18 per cent, to around US$1,800.
Aleenta, Phang Nga
Strictly speaking, Aleenta is on Natai Beach in Phang Nga province, about 30 minutes from Phuket airport. Healing Holidays lists a three-night programme from £849 per person sharing in low season and £1,179 in high season. Singles start at £1,159 and £1,799.
The price includes transfers, accommodation and full board. It is the shortest and cheapest of the packaged stays here, which makes it a sensible test run before a longer booking.
What the price usually leaves out
- Treatments. At Absolute Sanctuary, and on any room-only rate, massages and facials are extras.
- Tax and service. Amatara’s listing shows how much 18 per cent can add. Ask whether your quote is net.
- Flights, insurance and visas.
- Single supplements. On the figures above, a single room costs about 19 per cent more than a sharing rate at Kamalaya and nearly double at Absolute Sanctuary.
Treatment names such as detox, IV therapy or colon hydrotherapy describe what is on the schedule, not proven outcomes. If a programme includes medical-style treatments, ask who carries them out and talk to your own doctor first.
Choosing between them
Price a week, then ask three questions. Is the room included? Which meals are included? How many treatments are in the package, and how many are credits you spend yourself?
Then pick the setting. Hua Hin is the easiest of the three to reach by road from Bangkok. Koh Samui, in this selection, spans the widest price range. Aleenta is about 30 minutes from Phuket airport.
Know before you go
- Where: Chiva-Som in Hua Hin, Kamalaya and Absolute Sanctuary on Koh Samui, Amatara at Cape Panwa in Phuket, and Aleenta at Natai Beach in Phang Nga.
- Price: £399 to £5,599 for a week per person sharing, depending on the resort and season (as published in October 2026).
- Book: Kamalaya publishes its programmes and offers itself. For the other four, ask the resort for a written quote and compare it with an agent’s price before you pay.
- Good for: Travellers who want a structured week with meals and treatments set in advance, or a quiet base with classes.
- Check first: Whether the quote includes the room, meals, tax and service, and which treatments are credits rather than sessions.
A week away is easier to judge when you can name what you are paying for. Write down the three things you want from it before you compare any price.
Mali. Mali writes about spas and retreats, meditation and spirituality, food and slow living across Thailand. Her name means jasmine in Thai; she believes rest is a skill, and that the best retreat is the one whose habits you take home.
RestRobin is editorial content, not medical advice. Prices, programmes and opening details change, so check with the provider before you book, and talk to a qualified doctor before starting a treatment, fast or detox programme.
