Several spas in Hua Hin now offer contrast bathing: a sauna or herbal steam room, then a plunge into very cold water. The town is on the Gulf coast, and the spots range from a lakeside spa to a beach club at Khao Takiab and a garden retreat.

This guide lists six places where a listing or the venue itself says a cold plunge or ice bath is available. It gives published prices with their dates, and what the research says about cold water. We have not visited any of them.

How we chose

We included places that name an ice bath or cold plunge in their own material or in a dated listing, and that sell day access rather than a room. Directory prices can be old, so each price is marked with its source and date. Treat anything undated as a starting point for a phone call.

Mojo Spa & Retreat

Mojo’s own site sells a day pass for ฿490 that covers the shared facilities: sauna room, steam room, cold plunge, ice bath and jacuzzi. A promotion page lists three ice baths, hot stone saunas, an infrared sauna, two small pools and a hot tub.

The site shows a day pass with a one-hour oil massage for ฿890, and a 10-session pass for ฿4,410. It also lists massages from ฿450 for 30 minutes of Thai massage. The prices carry no date, so confirm them first.

Jintana Herb Sauna

Jintana pairs a Finnish wooden sauna with a Thai herbal steam room and an ice bath. Its own site lists a Hua Hin branch on Soi 102 in Nong Kae, open from 8:30am to 7pm and closed on Wednesdays.

A Visit Thailand Today listing, updated in October 2026, covers a second branch on Khao Takiab beach. It gives a ฿499 day pass that buys access to everything, with an oil massage at around ฿500 extra, and hours of 9am to 8pm daily. The listing calls it closer to a beach club than a spa. It adds that some guests found the front desk brusque.

Hours and prices differ between branches and sources, so call before you go.

The Cottage Retreat

The Cottage Retreat is a garden spa that specialises in contrast therapy, according to a Visit Thailand Today listing updated in August 2026. It offers a sauna, ice-cold plunge baths and a pool, with body scrubs and massages on top.

The venue’s website sells “Cottage Sessions”, described as full access for the day, and says walk-ins are welcome. We found no published price. Hours on the listing are 9am to 7pm, with an earlier 5pm close on Tuesdays.

Hua Hin Onsen & Spa

This compact onsen-style spa off Soi Phoem Sap has a sauna, hammam, hot tub, cold plunge pool and steam room, according to a listing updated in August 2026. It is open daily from 9am to 9pm. The listing says the space is small and suggests going early or on a weekday.

A Happy Hua Hin directory post from August 2024 gave a ฿350 all-day pass. That figure is two years old, so treat it as a guide only. Facebook is the venue’s main web presence.

The Standard Spa

The Standard, Hua Hin ran a ฿1,000++++ per person session in partnership with Siam Ice Bath. A Megatix listing describes it as a 60-minute session with breathwork, an ice bath and a sauna, booked in advance with no walk-ins. The “++++” means hotel service charge and tax, plus booking fees.

The listing is marked as already taken place and mentions a blackout date in August 2025. We could not confirm the offer is still on sale. Ask the spa directly.

Siam Ice Bath

Siam Ice Bath says its business is installing and maintaining ice baths for hotels and resorts. It also runs a small visitor operation with an owner who guides each person through a session, according to a Visit Thailand Today listing updated in August 2026.

The Happy Hua Hin directory listed ฿400 for 60 minutes and ฿650 for two hours in August 2024. Listing hours differ from one site to another, so call before you travel. The Standard Spa’s offer above was run with this company.

What the research says

Cold water immersion is the best-studied part of the practice. A Cochrane review of 17 small trials with 366 participants found some evidence that immersion in water below 15°C reduces muscle soreness at 24 to 96 hours after exercise, compared with rest. The study quality was low, and the review says the best method and its safety are not clear.

Harvard Health calls cold-water dips generally safe but says people with heart rhythm disorders should be cautious. It notes that the evidence for wider benefits such as fat loss and reduced inflammation is limited.

Some venue pages also mention better immunity or deeper sleep. The sources we read speak to soreness and safety, not to those claims, so we do not repeat them.

Who should be careful

A cardiologist at UVM Health says people with established heart disease, or at risk of a heart attack, should not do cold plunges. Risk factors include diabetes, high blood pressure, smoking and a family history of heart disease. Cold shock raises heart rate and blood pressure and can trigger fast breathing.

The same source advises against going alone. Talk to a qualified doctor before trying an ice bath if you have a heart or blood-pressure condition or are unsure.

Before you plunge

Ask staff for the water temperature and what they advise for a first visit, since each venue runs its own setup. Go with another person, as the cardiologist above recommends, rather than plunging alone.
